The goal with the Technology and Development Center was to create a building with contemporary architectural elements that would complement the existing buildings on the campus. This facility houses three different operating groups; research facilities, technical and productivity training, and customer support. There are 22 separate labs ranging in size from 105 sq ft to 3,744 sq ft supporting 43 major functions. Each lab features individual kill buttons to shut down electrical systems within that lab, separate exhaust systems, safety pulls and showers. Each lab has multiple entry points providing convenience and safety. Ceiling-to-floor glass observation windows in the touring corridors were aligned with portions of the 626-foot radius curve of the building. This project was completed in 2004.
