Synchro was asked to design and build the regional corporate brand identity for the JAE (Japan Aviation Electronics) Accelerometer and Directional Sensor Module, research & design facility in Sugarland, Texas. A one-story 7,700 sq ft metal office & industrial wing, was constructed featuring a variety of office and conference spaces, adjoined to a product-repair shop. Adjacently constructed, was a uniquely exclusive non-magnetic 3,000 sq ft test laboratory – producing a neutralized radial environment for research and design capability. To accomplish this, universally non-magnetic property materials and an innovative ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) building method was implemented in the construction process using foam-insulated, concrete panel walls and glulam wood ceiling beams. Connecting the lab is an approximately 100 ft long, non-magnetic, mechanical supply-and-return duct leading to units in a mechanical room which encloses the tunnel at the opposite end. Accelerated scheduling was engaged for the project to foster JAE’s production with careful planning for the simultaneous construction of the customized facilities. This project was completed in 2015.
